Monoï de Tahiti oil has been used for centuries for skin and hair. In French Polynesia, this oil is even sacred. Monoï de Tahiti oil is obtained in a quite complex and traditional way. The native flower Tiare Tahiti (Gardenia Tahitensis) is soaked in locally sourced coconut oil. The coconuts used for this must have been harvested on coral soil from French Polynesia. If this is the case, the Monoï oil will receive the official designation of origin.
