Lavender is loved worldwide for its divine scent shrub and of course the hydrolate that is extracted from the flowers also smells heavenly: floral, sweet and honey-like. This alone makes lavender water indispensable in your care collection. In addition, this floral water has the special property of calming, softening and purifying the skin. Lavender water is therefore ideal for use as a toner or face and body mist.

Lavender water is a product of steam distillation of the flowers, a process that is also used to extract essential oil. Lavender water is somewhat milder for the skin than orange blossom water and therefore suitable for all skin types, including dry/sensitive skin.

Usage

Lavender water is best used pure on your skin. For example, use it after cleansing your face as a toner or in your hair for wonderfully scented locks. You can of course also use lavender water in DIY lotions, masks, soap or shampoo instead of just water. Lavender water is also a wonderful addition if you are going to take a nice bath in the evening. Tip: For extra hydration, mix a small amount glycerin with lavender water to retain extra moisture on the skin.
